I did photocopy the entire elders book, before I gave it back. It took me a long time.
Nowadays its so easy to get a copy on the internet.
i have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

a friend of mine just got given a recording of the last ca which was held here a couple of weeks ago and she said there's been a change to the 144k teaching.
she didn't understand what the hell they were rabbiting on about.
she's really waking up as a result of all these changes, and so are some others she knows.. anyone know of any change to the 144k doctrine?
I asked my mother how many partook of the emblems this year. "there must only be a few hundred left" I added.
I did not get an answer. Perhaps she didnt hear me?
my stepson has just finished his national exams in his mother tongue.. talking about how it went, i suddenely had a flashback.. did you, like me, used to right about the "new system" paradise, or other jw stuff, given any opportunity, ( usually in english essays ) ?.
............... and did you count the time?.
I had not anticipated the different examination systems that exist.
America basically tests at the state level
I suppose that in America, a state is the equivalent of a country in Europe. In Europe, the exams differ widely between members of the EU.
An equivalent in England would be the 'A' levels ( if indeed they are still called that way).
At any rate, the point I wish to make has nothing to do with the exams themselves, but rather if we were " encouraged" to "witness" at any given
oportunity at school, and that even during written exams if the chance arose.

when you were a believer did you give large donations to the society?
if so how much did you give?
i know an elder who's a chiropractor and he generously gives $400-800 a month to the society.
I didnt think that I gave much at all, and then I became accounts servant, and realised that I contributed 10% of the total contributions.
(congregation of around 100 publishers)
It must have been a really tight congregation. Second thoughts, they probably got their values right.

"it is interesting to contrast the deliberate elimination of prayers andsongs at witness meetings in mexico with the action of the watchtower society in the united states, where they were willing to fightcase after case all the way up to the supreme court of the countryrather than give up certain practices, such as offering literature fromdoor to door without a license and without having to register withthe police, the right to use sound cars, distribute literature on streetcorners, and many other such practices which are covered byconstitutional rights.
the organization did not want to relinquish anyof these things.
it fought to hold on to them, even though theseparticular practices are certainly not things that were done by earlychristians in the first century and hence cannot be counted as amongprimary christian practices.".
I seem to remember reading here, that the wtb&ts is among the 100 top earners in NY.
i told him (my son) you are a glutton for punishment.. all went well when he introduced his friend to his mom, small talk and etc.. but the moment he left the room his mom statred in with his.
girlfriend.
probably thinking this will be a great experience for the.
Sounds like there could be some interesting exchanges in the future, between them. I will look out for your threads.
It reminds me of when Mrs P met my mother. Whilst I was absent she started to "preach" to her and to give her literature about the ressurection.
Mrs P had lost a daughter in death. My wife was so angry that she dared to touch on such a private and delicate subject, when she did not know her.
She stayed polite but the literature went directly in the trash.
i can only imagine what the impact will be from her remaining jw family.

Just put the clip on my Facebook - should be getting unfriended by a few JWs over that! Good.
Julia, you are a bad girl.
